Did you know

While they may look green and inviting, traditional U.S lawns are far from environmentally friendly. With 3 TRILLION gallons of water used every year, 200 million gallons of gas for mowing and equipment, and over 70 million pounds of pesticides, that’s a huge impact on our ecosystem. Not to mention they provide little habitat or food for pollinators, beneficial insects and other wildlife and are one of the leading contributors to runoff pollution and water contamination in the U.S.

What can you do?

We at 44 North Landscaping are dedicated to better stewardship of our shared world. By utilizing the best IPM practices and safest products available, our services start clean and get cleaner. Fixing soil issues, correcting drainage, and avoiding planting problems offers numerous benefits. Our customers can see a substantial increase in quality and landscape health, while often reducing water and fertilizer use through more efficient and targeted resource use. This can translate to increased wildlife activity and better food supplies for hummingbirds, butterflies, ladybugs, songbirds and more!

About Us

MY NAME IS Mark

I grew up in beautiful western New Hampshire in a family that grew much of our own food and had many beautiful gardens on our small 3+ acre property in a quiet town. I started apprenticing with a local gardener when I was 12 and soon began a lifelong love affair with the natural world. My interests brought me to the University of Maine and a B.S in Landscape Horticulture in 2011. During my time in school and after graduation I worked for several landscape, greenhouse and turf specific companies in Maine, New Hampshire and Washington and soon found myself disenchanted with the field. Synthetic products and cheap petroleum based fertilizers as well as frequent pesticide use often left me with headaches, a diminished sense of smell, muscle twitches and a general loss of interest in my field.

In 2017 I decided to make a switch and focus on what I knew to be a better, healthier, safer way to do what I loved. Everything we do is designed around not only our health as professionals handling the materials, but for the health and safety of our customers and especially their children and pets. We love what we do and know you will too.

Our PROMISE

We only work with the best materials available, and offer full transparency of our products, and will gladly talk with our customers about any concerns and issues they may have when designing or maintaining their outdoor spaces. We never compromise quality for time and give our clients realistic schedules that accommodate their lives.
